Reference is made to the news published on Malaysiakini on 15 May 2024 titled “Courts to phase out online bail system E-Jamin on May 19”.
The Board of Directors of the Company wishes to inform that DAPAT Vista (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“DAPAT”), a subsidiary of the Company has recently received a directive letter dated 30 April 2024 from the Office of the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court of Malaysia (“DOJ”) (“DOJ Letter”), mandating the transfer of all e-Jamin funds and accrued interest to the Main Receiving Account of the Prime Minister's Department (“Directive”). The details of the DOJ Letter are as follows:- a) To transfer of all current bail funds to the Prime Minister’s Consolidated Fund as of 19 May 2024; b) To transfer of all accrued interest generated from the Collection Account to the Prime Minister’s Consolidated Fund; and c) The mandate necessitates the cessation of the e-Jamin system and a reversion to conventional bail processes effective 19 May 2024. DAPAT is working towards obtaining the approval from the relevant regulatory authorities to continue providing services via e-Jamin moving forward. The Directive will have a significant impact on the Group's operations as well as revenue stream since e-Jamin has been a crucial component of the Group’s business since its inception in January 2020. The e-Jamin system is intact and DAPAT is currently in discussions with several banks to facilitate the transition. The Company will continue to make further announcements in relation to any latest development in accordance with the requirements under Paragraph 9.03 of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
