23 April 2021: Expression of interest to apply for the licence.
24 May 2021: Securing of Crowdo Holdings Pte Ltd (SME-focused neobank for emerging ASEAN markets) as consortium partner.
1 June 2021: Securing of INFOPRO Sdn Bhd (homegrown banking solution provider established since 1987) as consortium partner.
9 June 2021: Collaboration with financial inclusion ecosystem players: Trevo (gig economy), Paywatch (advance wages solution), Qoala (takaful tech) and Butterfly FX (financial management edtech).
18 June 2021: Joint exploration of alternative credit scoring solutions with Experian for the digital bank.
24 June 2021: Financial strength support for the digital bank by Labuan offshore bank Perfect Hexagon Commodity and Investment Bank Limited and ICT company Alsirat Sdn Bhd as investors.

Pertama Digital Berhad is pleased to announce that it has today submitted to Bank Negara Malaysia its application for the digital bank licence.

The Islamic digital bank envisaged by the Pertama Digital Berhad consortium places the financially unserved / underserved customers at its heart. The digital bank aims to sustainably provide affordable and ethical financing products, while handholding the B40 and MSMEs to nurture good financial management, pouring rocket fuel into post-pandemic productivity.
